Behind every powerful photograph is not just a camera, but also the people, processes, and vision that make it possible. For Riddhi, the co-founder and operations head of Framed, the journey has been as much about building a business as it has been about capturing memories.

The Beginning of Framed

Riddhi's partner, Ronak, now her husband,  had always been passionate about photography. What began as his personal pursuit soon turned into something much bigger. Six months after he founded Framed, Riddhi joined him not just as a partner in life, but also as a partner in building the brand.

They started small, with three of them, Ronak, along with his brother Jai, working out of Ronak's room at his residence.

In the early days, Riddhi assisted Ronak on shoots, but as their projects expanded, her role naturally evolved into handling the backbone of the company: operations, client relations, data management, and overall business strategy.

By 2015, Framed had its first full wedding photography team. What started with a single pre-wedding shoot done purely out of passion and without payment soon transformed into a wave of projects, thanks to organic word-of-mouth referrals.

The Team Today

From three people to a creative powerhouse, Framed has now grown into a 30-member team comprising photographers, cinematographers, editors, social media managers, and in-house support staff.

"Getting the right resource at the right time has always been a struggle. However, today, we're proud to note that many of our team members have been with us for years. That loyalty and consistency mean everything."

The Breakthrough

The turning point came when Ronak shot a grand wedding at the Falaknuma Palace as a candid photographer for an event management company.

It was a spectacular affair, and Ronak left no stone unturned in capturing its magic. The bride and groom were so impressed with his work that they ended up using more of his images than those of the main photographer.

With no major social media presence or marketing strategy, Framed grew purely on the strength of its work and the power of client referrals.

Recognition & Motivation

One of the proudest milestones for the team was winning the Best Videographer of the Year (Under 30) award at a WE Connect event in Chennai.

Since then, Framed has earned prestigious national and international accolades, including:

  • Fearless Awards

  • Reportage Awards

  • WedAwards

  • WE Awards

  • WeddingSutra Photography Awards (2019- 2023)

But beyond the trophies, the greatest recognition has come from families who return to them year after year. Some have trusted Framed for over a decade, calling them back for as many as four weddings in the same family.

"That loyalty and trust mean more than any award."

Capturing WOW Experience

Riddhi fondly recalls attending the Capturing WOW Award Ceremony:

"It was incredibly well-organised, on a scale we hadn't seen before. The variety of categories, the energy, and the networking opportunities were inspiring. Even though we couldn't participate in later years due to travel, that first experience has always stayed with us."

The Driving Force

Unlike many who dream of glitzy international weddings, Riddhi's dream project is beautifully grounded in authenticity:

"It's not about scale. It's about honest relationships, bonds that move you beyond barriers, and beautiful stories set against meaningful celebrations with open hearts."

Beyond Work

Free time is rare when you run a photography company, but for Riddhi and Ronak, travel is both relaxation and inspiration. It offers them fresh perspectives and fuels their creativity in unexpected ways.

Her Business Mantra

If Riddhi had to sum it up, her mantra is simple:
Excellence/Honesty/Responsibility

Advice to Beginners

Her advice to aspiring photographers and entrepreneurs is heartfelt:

"Do it from your heart, not for money or attention. If you stay true to that, there's no looking back."

Looking Ahead

Currently rooted in Kolkata, Riddhi and her team dream of expanding Framed to new cities and even new countries while keeping Kolkata as their home base. No matter how much they grow, the vision remains the same: to tell authentic, emotional stories through their lens.

Closing Note

To anyone reading her story, Riddhi has one thing to say:

"We are a team of passionate storytellers who care deeply about your biggest moments. For us, it's never just a project; it's a responsibility, and we give it our all."

Riddhi's journey is proof that behind every thriving photography brand, there's more than just artistry; there's vision, resilience, and a whole lot of heart.
